Bess began collecting minerals as a young girl who was encouraged by her Scottish stone mason Grandpa. Bess and Dick met in a San Diego State University geology course (Bess was the sole female geology major that year).
During Dick's USAF career, in our leisure time, we continued actively producing our graphic designs and adding to our geologic collection.
Throughout our other careers, we've continued to produce graphic designs, tee shirts, and graphic art items such as pictures and book illustrations. Our themes involved sites in Alaska (NPS duty and several military tours) and the Yosemite National Park region of California (our original family home).
Now we've retired from most employment, and volunteer with the California State Mining and Mineral Museum (a California State Park).
This on-line store will offer some of the more interesting minerals and tools we had accumulated through our brick-and-mortar store, the Boerne Rock Shop. The shop closed in 2014, and we moved back to California to be closer to family.
